Article 1 (Scope)

  1. This Policy applies to market data, macroeconomic data, financial data, statistical data, Data Series, analysis conditions, Analysis Results, charts, Public Research, and other data acquired, stored, referenced, displayed, analyzed, or generated in the Service.
  2. The Company's separate Privacy Policy applies, in addition to this Policy, to the handling of personal information and user information.
  3. Where the Service uses external data sources or External Services, the data may also be subject to terms, licenses, attribution requirements, storage restrictions, usage restrictions, redistribution restrictions, and other conditions established by the applicable external data source, data provider, exchange, third-party provider, or other rights holder.
  4. If this Policy conflicts with applicable law or conditions established by an external data provider or other rights holder with respect to particular data, the applicable law and the conditions of that rights holder shall prevail with respect to such data.

Article 2 (Data Handled by the Service)

The Service may handle the following categories of data:

  1. Market data
Prices, time series, indicators, security or instrument information, and other data relating to equities, ETFs, indices, foreign exchange, commodities, interest rates, and other financial instruments or markets.
  2. Macroeconomic and statistical data
Interest rates, inflation, employment, business conditions, monetary policy, economic statistics, and other data relating to economic or market analysis.
  3. Data Series and dataset information
Data Series identified for analysis in the Service, their sources, provider identifiers, exchange or market information, frequency, units, currency, time zone, adjustment methodology, revision policy, acquisition timing, covered period, and other information used to identify the data and its provenance.
  4. Analysis conditions and Analysis Results
The two Data Series selected by a User, the analysis period, transformation conditions, and other analysis conditions, together with statistical values, indicators, charts, explanatory information, model outputs, and other Analysis Results generated, displayed, or stored by the Service.
  5. Public Research data
Analysis Results, source information, analysis periods, data as-of dates, caveats, and other publication information selected by the Company for publication after such checks and review as the Company considers necessary.
  6. Operational and data-management information
Data acquisition times, update times, acquisition status, covered periods, record counts, integrity information, source-related records, update history, and other information necessary for reproducibility, quality control, and incident response in the Service.

Article 3 (External Data Sources)

  1. The Service may use FRED and other external data sources or external APIs selected by the Company for data acquisition, analysis, display, and verification.
  2. Copyright and other rights, trademarks, attribution requirements, licenses, permitted storage periods, whether caching or archiving is permitted, external display, redistribution, download, export, commercial use, and other conditions applicable to data originating from an external data source are governed by the conditions established by the applicable data provider or other rights holder.
  3. The fact that a particular Data Series can be searched, selected, displayed, or analyzed in the Service does not grant a User any right to acquire, store, reproduce, redistribute, publish, or commercially use that data outside the Service.
  4. Depending on contracts with data providers, licenses, rights, provider specifications, available subscription plans, exchange- or source-specific restrictions, and other circumstances, the Company may restrict the availability, display, storage method, update frequency, available period, analytical functionality, output method, or publication scope of particular Data Series.
  5. If the Company is unable to confirm required usage rights, storage conditions, display conditions, attribution requirements, or other applicable conditions for particular Data Series, or is unable to satisfy such conditions, the Company may restrict or suspend all or part of the new acquisition, updates, analysis, display, external output, or publication of those Data Series.
  6. The technical ability to obtain data from an external data source, or the fact that such data could be obtained in the past, does not mean that any current or future license, storage right, display right, redistribution right, or other right exists with respect to such data.

Article 4 (Data Obtained through FRED)

  1. The Service may use the FRED API provided by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to obtain, analyze, or display macroeconomic data and other data.
  2. By using the Service, Users agree to be bound by the FRED API Terms of Use (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/docs/api/terms_of_use.html) and other applicable conditions established by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, to the extent applicable to their use of data made available through the Service from the FRED API.
  3. Where the Service uses the FRED API, the Company will display the following notice in an appropriate location in the Service: This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
  4. Data provided through FRED may include data in which third parties other than the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis hold rights, or data subject to separate conditions concerning copyright, attribution, licensing, storage, or reuse.
  5. The Company does not treat the mere fact that a Data Series is publicly available on FRED or technically accessible through its API as meaning that unrestricted storage, caching, archiving, external display, redistribution, or commercial use of that data is permitted.
  6. Taking into account the source, rights notices, terms of use, and other information applicable to each Data Series, the Company may restrict the acquisition, storage, display, analysis, external output, or publication of such Data Series.
  7. Use of the FRED API or FRED-derived data by the Service does not mean that the Service is endorsed, certified, guaranteed, or recommended by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Article 5 (Market Data and Other Third-Party Data)

  1. The Service may use third-party data services and other external data sources with which the Company has contracts, or which the Company is otherwise authorized to use, to obtain, analyze, or display market data and other data.
  2. The permitted scope of use of such external data may vary depending on the Company's contractual terms, applicable markets, information sources, display methods, storage methods, periods of use, and other conditions.
  3. The Service is not intended to allow Users to obtain raw data acquired from external data providers in a reusable bulk format or to provide a data feed that enables redistribution of such raw data.
  4. Unless expressly made available by the Company, Users may not download, export, store or accumulate, redistribute, or provide to third parties raw data obtained from external data providers in a form usable outside the Service.
  5. Where an external data provider or its underlying source requires attribution, links, or other notices, the Company will provide the required notices in accordance with the applicable conditions, or may restrict the use, display, or publication of data for which those or other applicable conditions cannot reasonably be satisfied.
  6. For purposes of this Article, "raw data" includes not only unprocessed data obtained from an external data provider, but also data that is substantially equivalent to such data to the extent that a User could reconstruct or reuse the underlying time series.

Article 6 (Data Acquisition, Normalization, and Storage)

  1. For reproducibility of analyses, data quality, and operation of the Service, the Company may identify and normalize data obtained from external data sources and, within the scope permitted by applicable rights and conditions, store or reference such data in formats determined by the Company.
  2. For the same Data Series, the Company may use datasets and versions shared internally within the Service rather than creating a separate copy for each User or each Analysis.
  3. The shared datasets and versions described in the preceding paragraph are common data assets used by the Service for analysis and are managed separately from Analysis Results, analysis history, saved status, and other information attributable to a particular User.
  4. The Company manages information such as acquisition timing, covered period, source, normalization method, data version, and integrity in an effort to maintain traceability of the data used for an Analysis.
  5. Nothing in this Article means that the Company has any unrestricted or perpetual right to store, cache, archive, or back up external data.
  6. Where an external data provider's conditions restrict storage, caching, archiving, backup, or other handling, the Company will modify, restrict, or discontinue the applicable storage method, retention period, or reuse method in accordance with those conditions.
  7. Where required due to termination or amendment of a contract or license with an external data provider, changes in applicable rights or conditions, or other circumstances, the Company may delete the applicable data or take other necessary measures, including suspending use of, updates to, or access to that data.

Article 7 (Data Updates, Revisions, and Timing of Availability)

  1. External data may change, including historical values, due to corrections, revisions, retroactive updates, trading adjustments, corporate actions, methodology changes, or other actions by the provider.
  2. Data displayed or analyzed in the Service may not fully reflect the information that was actually available at each historical point in time.
  3. Unless the Company expressly states that it reproduces a particular historical point-in-time or initial-release state, historical data in the Service may reflect the history available from the provider at the time the data was acquired or updated.
  4. For market closing prices, macroeconomic indicators, and other data, the observation date or reference date may differ from the time at which the data actually became available.
  5. When using Analysis Results, Users shall review, as necessary, acquisition timing, the data as-of date, revision risk, availability timing, and other relevant limitations.
  6. Due to data revisions, updates, source changes, changes in adjustment methodology, or other circumstances, Analyses conducted at different times may produce different Analysis Results even for the same Data Series and the same analysis period.

Article 8 (Analysis Results and Output)

  1. Analysis Results are generated based on the data available to the Service at the time of Analysis, the applicable data version, analysis period, analysis conditions, analytical methods, settings, system state, and other relevant conditions.
  2. The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, currency, revision status, or availability timing of external data underlying Analysis Results.
  3. The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, currency, usefulness, reproducibility, continuity, causality, predictive ability, fitness for a particular purpose, investment performance, or any other outcome of Analysis Results.
  4. When using Analysis Results, Users shall, at their own responsibility, review the underlying data, source, analysis period, analysis conditions, assumptions, caveats, data as-of date, and conditions imposed by external data providers.
  5. In addition to this Policy, the restrictions concerning commercial use, provision to third parties, external publication, and other use of Analysis Results or other output under the Terms of Use apply.
  6. Even where an Analysis Result is a statistical value, transformed value, chart, or other derived output calculated from external data, any conditions imposed by an external data provider or other rights holder regarding the use, display, or redistribution of such output shall apply.

Article 9 (Download, Export, and Redistribution)

  1. Unless expressly permitted by the Company, Users may not download, export, store, accumulate, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or provide to third parties raw data originating from external data sources, or data that substantially substitutes for such raw data, in a form usable outside the Service.
  2. Depending on data-provider conditions, subscription plans, intended use, User permissions, and other circumstances, the Company may restrict downloading, copying, printing, API access, or other external output of data, charts, Analysis Results, or other output.
  3. Users may not, by screenshot, manual transcription, copying, scraping, automated acquisition, or any other means, obtain or use data for the purpose of circumventing, or in a manner that violates, this Policy, the Terms of Use, or conditions imposed by external data providers.
  4. The Service is not a service for redistributing raw time-series data originating from external data sources to third parties.

Article 10 (Internal Use, Provision to Third Parties, and Commercial Use)

  1. Subject to this Policy, the Terms of Use, and conditions imposed by external data providers, Users may use Analysis Results as an aid to internal research, verification, and decision-making by the User or within a corporation or other organization to which the User belongs.
  2. Except where expressly permitted by the Company, Users may not sell, redistribute, provide, publish, reproduce, transmit, incorporate into an external service or product, or otherwise make commercial use, for or in connection with third parties, of any data, Analysis Results, statistical values, charts, explanatory information, or other output obtained, displayed, or generated through the Service for customers, business partners, investors, members, subscribers, or other third parties.
  3. A User who wishes to engage in such provision to third parties, external publication, or commercial use must contact the Company in advance and enter into a separate agreement with the Company or obtain the Company's express permission in writing or by an electronic method accepted by the Company.
  4. Even if an agreement or permission under the preceding paragraph exists, the Company will not authorize any use that is not permitted under conditions imposed by an external data provider or other third party.
  5. The Company does not claim exclusive rights in a User's own original analysis, opinions, or insights as such. However, the preceding paragraphs apply where the use substantially reproduces, republishes, or redistributes output of the Service or external data.

Article 11 (Public Research)

  1. The Company may provide Public Research using data and Analysis Results selected by the Company on the Service or the Company's website.
  2. Before publication, the Company reviews Public Research for analytical validity, sources, required attribution, rights necessary for publication or display, and other applicable conditions, and publishes only content for which it has confirmed that the applicable publication conditions are satisfied.
  3. If conditions imposed by an external data provider, rights restrictions, attribution requirements, or other publication conditions cannot be satisfied, the Company will not use the applicable data or Analysis Results in Public Research.
  4. Public Research is not intended to publish or distribute complete raw time-series data obtained from external data providers in a reusable form.
  5. Public Research may be provided as a fixed analytical record based on the data, analysis period, and analysis conditions applicable at the time of publication. The Company is not obligated to automatically rewrite past Public Research solely because external data has subsequently been updated.
  6. If an issue concerning data accuracy, rights, attribution, analytical methods, or other matters is identified after publication, the Company may correct, unpublish, withdraw, or replace all or part of the affected Public Research.
  7. User-specific private Analysis Results will not, in their original form or automatically, be published as Public Research.

Article 12 (Data Availability and Retention)

  1. The Company may make all or part of Data Series, datasets, Analysis Results, or related information unavailable due to outages, specification changes, discontinuation of an external data source, changes in rights or conditions, termination of contracts, technical reasons, legal compliance, or other circumstances.
  2. The Company does not guarantee permanent retention or perpetual availability of any particular data, Data Series, dataset, or data version.
  3. Datasets and their versions shared within the Service are not attributable solely to any particular User and may be managed independently of a User's Account status, analysis history, or saved status.
  4. The Company may change the retention period, storage method, available period, update method, or other handling of data due to conditions imposed by external data providers, applicable law, security, system operations, or other circumstances.
  5. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply to the retention and availability of Analysis Results and analysis history.

Article 13 (User Obligations)

When using data in the Service, Users shall comply with the following:

  1. Comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Terms of Use, this Policy, the Privacy Policy, conditions imposed by external data providers, and third-party rights.
  2. Do not acquire, store, reproduce, sell, redistribute, externally publish, or provide to third parties data originating from external data sources beyond the scope permitted by the Company or the applicable rights holder.
  3. Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, attribution requirements, license terms, storage restrictions, redistribution restrictions, or other rights or conditions of data providers, exchanges, third-party providers, or other rights holders.
  4. Do not use data or Analysis Results from the Service without authorization for activities requiring registration, a license, regulatory authorization, or contractual authority, or for external commercial uses prohibited by the Terms of Use.
  5. Do not obtain or use data from the Service through scraping, crawling, automated acquisition, reverse engineering, circumvention of access controls, or other methods not permitted by the Company.
  6. Do not use data or other output from the Service in a manner that infringes the rights, reputation, or interests of an external data provider or any other third party.

Article 14 (Disclaimer of Warranties)

  1. The Company does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, currency, usefulness, suitability, reproducibility, continuity, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose of data, external data, third-party data, Analysis Results, charts, or other output acquired, stored, displayed, analyzed, or generated in the Service.
  2. Available Data Series, rights notices, conditions of use, provider specifications, update frequency, and other conditions relating to external data may change, and the Company does not warrant that any such conditions will remain unchanged in the future.
  3. The Company does not guarantee that external data sources, external APIs, exchanges, third-party providers, or other external services will be free from specification changes, service discontinuations, outages, data delays, errors, omissions, revisions, cessation of updates, or changes in applicable conditions.
  4. Data and Analysis Results in the Service are not substitutes for professional investment, trading, financial, accounting, tax, legal, regulatory, or other professional judgment.
  5. When using data or Analysis Results from the Service, Users shall, at their own responsibility, review the underlying data, source, analysis conditions, assumptions, limitations, data as-of date, revision risk, rights, and applicable conditions of use.

Article 15 (Changes to This Policy)

  1. The Company may amend this Policy due to changes in external data sources, changes in data-provider conditions, changes to the Service, amendments to laws or regulations, security measures, business needs, or other reasons.
  2. When amending this Policy, the Company will notify or announce the amended contents and effective date by posting them on the Service or the Company's website, by email, or by another method the Company considers appropriate.
  3. For material changes, the Company will make reasonable efforts to enable Users to review the substance of the changes.
