Improved Factor and Dataset Display in Results, with Direct Data Access from Factors

FactDecode now makes it easier to identify factors and datasets across the Results screen. Instead of relying on long dataset names, Results now emphasizes compact identifiers such as DGS10 and UNRATE where appropriate. We also added a direct link from Factors to the selected dataset’s Data Detail page, making it easier to review charts and historical data while building factors.

Improved factor display in Results

We have updated how factors are displayed across the Results screen.

For factors created from datasets such as FRED series, FactDecode now emphasizes compact identifiers such as DGS10, T10YIE, and DFII10 instead of relying on long dataset names.

The same display rules are now used across key Results surfaces, including Factor Contribution, Factor-Target Correlation, Latest Factor Snapshot, SHAP Summary, Factor Analysis, and Representative Tree.

This makes it easier to identify which data each factor is based on when comparing multiple factors, while also reducing layout issues caused by long labels.

For factors that users have named themselves, FactDecode continues to prioritize the user-defined factor name.

Results now emphasizes compact factor identifiers instead of long dataset names, making comparisons easier to scan.

More compact Dataset Coverage labels

We also improved the display of datasets in Data Freshness > Dataset Coverage.

Instead of showing long dataset names wherever possible, FactDecode now emphasizes compact identifiers such as UNRATE, CPIAUCSL, GDPC1, and PAYEMS.

This makes it easier to trace datasets and factors across an analysis while keeping Dataset Coverage cards compact and the overall Results screen easier to scan.

Open the source data directly from Factors

The Factors screen now includes a View data ↗ link for the currently selected dataset.

While building a factor, you may want to quickly check:

  • what the selected dataset represents
  • how its recent values have moved
  • what the historical data looks like

You can now open the corresponding Data Detail page directly from Factors.

After selecting a dataset under Available datasets, the View data ↗ action appears next to the Selected indicator. It opens Data Detail in a new tab, so you can review the Chart and Historical Data and then return to the original Factors tab without losing your context.

Dataset cards themselves continue to work as before and remain dedicated to selecting the dataset used for factor authoring.

In Factors, you can now open the selected dataset’s Data Detail page directly from the Available datasets section.

Existing analysis results

The new Results display rules apply to newly created analysis results.

Existing analysis results continue to preserve the display information associated with the original run. FactDecode does not retroactively replace historical runs with the new display contract.

This allows past analyses to retain their original context while making future Results screens easier to read, identify, and review.
